Viraf Patel, one of the most recognized working chefs in India, is as renowned for his culinary skills as he is for his ability to create restaurants that are both relaxed and exciting. Born and brought up in Bombay, he studied Hospitality Management “Ecole Les Roches”, Switzerland. In 2000, Viraf returned to India and joined the award winning restaurant Indigo in Bombay as Sous Chef, then Salt Water Grill, followed by the award winning Smoke House Grill in Delhi.

He has been recognized by the Time out Mumbai to be one of the upcoming Chefs to have a look out for. He was also, in previous years voted among the top 10 young Chefs and among the 10 most creative people in India by the Hindustan times. In 2010 Viraf founded Urban Spoon Hospitality, a turnkey/ full service restaurant consultancy company that in the past year has set up The Table at Colaba, Mumbai, Salz at Jublee hills in Hyderabad, 36 Oak & Barley, Mumbai. In January 2012 Chef Viraf and his partners opened Cafe Zoe Mumbai “My food is an honest reflection of fresh ingredients, enhanced by the two most important elements, salt and water”,
